Electric Storm Youth (ESY) has a vision to build a brand new facility for young people on the former Freshbrook School Site right in the heart of Lancing, West Sussex.
We want to offer the young people of our community facilities and services that are right at the heart of youth culture. We want to offer them something amazing. We want to give them a home from home. We want to see it staffed with people who are deeply passionate about seeing young people learn for themselves, and lead a life that they find fulfilling, rewarding and above all else, fun.
Anyone can achieve amazing things when surrounded by persistent support, encouragement and love.
We estimate the costs of this multi-purpose centre will be in excess of £2,600,000.
At a meeting of the Adur Development Control Sub Committee ESY's application was discussed and APPROVED by the Councillors, subject to receiving comments from Sport England. This is tremendous news and marks the culmination of several years hard work to get to this point.
Marion Peskett, Chair of Directors said "We were overwhelmed by the comments of the Councillors on the Committee, all of whom spoke warmly in favour of the project with ringing endorsements about what it will do for Lancing, its people and the wider community. I am so excited that we have got to this point. Of course now the next hurdle is to identify trusts and funds to which we can apply for the money to build the centre. Thank you to everyone who has supported us in so many ways over the years. It is your support that has got us to this point and will take us even further".
To provide a centre to focus the energy of Adur's young people in activities that realise their skills and talents in a secure environment, away from harmful influences
